What should Christians think about Mary?
I grew up hearing almost nothing about Mary, while a friend asks her to pray for them. I want to honour Scripture and avoid insults across traditions.

Mary is blessed as the faithful mother of Jesus and points us to her Son (Luke 1:46-49; John 2:5 — do whatever He tells you). Christians differ on later devotional practices. Affirm what Scripture clearly says; speak of one another with charity.

Protestants sometimes under-honour Mary out of reaction. Luke's Magnificat is Scripture — read it.

Don't caricature Catholic friends; ask what they actually believe.

Any devotion that eclipses Jesus has gone off the map — including celebrity preacher devotion.

Praying to Mary isn't something I see taught as normative in the New Testament; keep Christ as the one Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) while staying respectful in conversation.
