How can a loving God send people to hell?
My cousin says this is why she can't believe. I don't want a harsh answer or a soft Jesus who never judged. How do justice, love, and the cross fit?

The Bible speaks seriously of judgment because evil matters, and of love because God gave His Son so people may be rescued. John 3:16-18; Romans 3:25-26 — God is just and the justifier. Speak with tears and humility; judgment belongs to God.

Invite her to read Luke 15 and Luke 16 — mercy and warning in the same Lord.

You're not the judge of her soul. You're a witness. Leave results with God.

Keep pointing to Christ who bore judgment for sinners. The cross is where love and justice meet.

Don't pretend you enjoy the doctrine. Romans 9:2 — great sorrow — is a better posture than smug certainty.

Ask her what she thinks should happen to unrepentant evil — most people want justice until it's personal.

Hell isn't God losing His temper; Jesus speaks of it as the consequence of rejecting life (Matthew 25:46).
