Is baptism by immersion the only biblical way?

Our family has members baptised as babies and others baptised by immersion after conversion. The conversation gets harsh quickly. How can we hold conviction without insulting each other?

Christians disagree about timing and mode while still honouring Christ's command and union with Him. State your conviction from Scripture with humility. Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4. Don't treat sincere believers as enemies over secondary differences.

We're going to read Romans 6 together instead of forwarding polemical videos.

Unity in the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) is wider than agreement on every ordinance detail — without pretending details don't matter.

For marriage across traditions, get counsel before the wedding about children's baptism expectations.

Study the texts, not only your favourite preacher's clips. Acts baptism scenes + the household debates deserve patience.

Immersion pictures burial and rising well (Romans 6). That doesn't automatically make every other baptismal practice worthless in God's sight — ask what your conscience and church teach carefully.

If you're considering baptism because you newly believed, talk to your pastors — don't delay obedience out of family politics (Acts 2:38-41).

Refuse mockery of infant baptism or believer's baptism at the dinner table. Colossians 4:6 — gracious speech.
