Show up. Listen more than you talk. Practical help. Quiet Scripture prayer. Don't explain their suffering. Presence is often the most Christlike thing. Galatians 6:2; 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Text 'no need to reply' check-ins. Chronic illness includes reply fatigue.
Believe their limits. Don't spiritualise cancellations as lack of faith.
Ask: 'What would help this week?' Then do that — rides, meals, sitting in silence. James 2:16 warns against empty 'be warmed.'
Stop promising healing by Sunday unless God has spoken that — He usually hasn't to you. Pray honestly: 'Lord, mercy, strength, wisdom for doctors.'
Include them in life beyond 'prayer project' identity — jokes, news, ordinary friendship.
