I watch context, choices, God's action, and how the wider story points to Christ. Then: what does faith or failure teach here? Don't force every detail into allegory.
Show up. Listen more than you talk. Practical help. Quiet Scripture prayer. Don't explain their suffering. Presence is often the most Christlike thing.
Conviction is usually specific and hopeful — it pulls you toward Christ. Condemnation is vague, crushing, isolating. Sounds like the accuser. Take both to the cross and to trusted counsel.
Quieter lanes: intercession, admin, hospitality prep, writing, tech, one-to-one discipleship. Tell leaders your capacity. The body needs more than stage gifts.
