Tell God and two safe friends you're lonely. Host something simple — soup, board game, prayer walk. Marriage isn't the only cure; Christ's presence is real even when church programming forgets singles. Psalm 68:6 — God settles the solitary in a home.
Hosting feels scary but doable. Trying a Sunday lunch for whoever looks alone.
If your church erases singles, it may be fair to find a congregation that disciples adults as adults — still the body, better fit.
Build cross-household friendships: adopt a family for monthly meal, or join two other singles for weekly check-in.
Ask leaders for a singles-aware calendar: mixed-age dinners, not only 'young couples.' Hebrews 10:24-25 — stir one another up, not sort by marital status.
Grief the desire honestly in prayer. Psalm 13 is allowed. Fake cheer isn't holiness.
1 Corinthians 7:32-35 isn't a slap — Paul names undivided devotion as a real gift. Loneliness still deserves care, not lectures.
Serve somewhere connection happens sideways — tech booth, kids helper, hospitality team — but don't use busyness to numb ache.
