I’ve seen people suffer... good people who didn’t deserve it. I’ve prayed for things, but sometimes, God doesn’t answer the way I hope. If He really loves us and has all the power, why does He allow so much pain?

Ask any mature Christian what they have gone through and you will understand why Jesus said in John 16:33 that in this world we will have trouble. It is not just believers but everyone goes through trouble. God never promised a life without trouble. Look at the life of Jesus, the apostles, the disciples, the prophets and even the children of Israel. Trouble is the lot of man but, Jesus said to be of good cheer as He has overcome the world.
What is important is to go through everything with Him as He is always there to help and guide us

Taking a queue from the submission above to the question asked, I believe that the life of Job answers the question. There's no prayer that God does not hear but how He chooses to answer them is entirely His prerogative. Jeremiah 32:17 made us to understand that there's no limitations to what God can do. Divine operation is far above and beyond human understanding.
