What is the true meaning of Salvation?

Salvation is from the word "Save," which means being rescued or delivered from something harmful. In Christian faith, salvation is the transition from darkness to light. It has to do with deliverance from sin and Satan and now brought into the fold of Christ. This happens when one surrenders their totality to Jesus Christ - the Saviour (Messiah) of the world. Therefore, salvation comes by grace, extended by Jesus Christ through His finished work on the Calvary, and not by works.

Salvation is the gift of deliverance from the consequences of sin and Satan's work to live a new living in Christ.

Romans 3:23 days, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" (KJV).

In order to have this gift, every sinner is required to believe in Christ as the Lord and Son of God (Mark 16:16); to repent from sins (Acts 17:30); to confess Jesus as the Lord and Son of God (Romans 10:9-10); to be immersed in water (Acts 2:38). It's at the point of baptism that one is buried with Christ to have the gift of salvation freely offered in the death of Christ.

Romans 6:3 says, "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:" (KJV)

Salvation means to be saved, what are we being saved from? Death, the Scripture says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
By default, all men have the adamic nature, which is sinful in nature but when one receives the new life by surrendering your life to Christ, by believing in the finished work of Christ and confessing with your month that Jesus is Lord over your life, you receive the new life, which is what salvation is. John 3:16 entails all there is to salvation.

To sum everything up everything.

Salvation means being “saved”
From what? Sin.
Therefore, salvation is humbly hearing accepting and doing the word.

James 1:21: ‘Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you which can save you.’

Verse 21: ‘Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourself. Do what it says.’

Once saved is NOT forever saved. There are several warmings of the possibility to fall from the grace received and there are examples of those who once saved but went into apostasy.

Warning On Possibility Of Apostasy:
1 Corinthians 10:12 says, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."

Hebrews 2:1 says, "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."

2 Thessalonians 2:3 says, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

1 Timothy 4:1 says, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils"

2 Timothy 4:3 says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Acts 20:29 days, "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears."

Hebrews 6:6 says, "If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

Read 2 Peter 2:20-22

Biblical Examples of Those who Fell:
1. Ananias and his wife- Acts 5:1-13
2. Hymenaeus and Alexander -1 Timothy 1:20
3. Judas Iscariot fell - Acts 1:25
4. Some people who turned to be antichrists in the first centuries fell away from the faith - 1 John 2:18-19

Conclusion: No one is saved once and forever. It's only those who are faithful till death shall be saved eternally -Revelation 2:10
