    No one knows her name

    She crept up behind our Lord

    Invisible to the pressing crowd

    Faith pulled her forward

    With the whisper “If only I can touch the hem, just the hem”

    Eyes to the ground, face covered, head down

    She moved quietly through the crowd

    Avoiding any eye contact

    Lest anyone shout “Unclean, Unclean!”

    Nameless though she was

    She stopped Jesus in His tracks

    Her faith had drawn power from the master’s compassion

    Who touched me?

    She slunk away

    Fear whispered “I am undone”

    Eyes down, head bowed, head covered

    She made to back away

    But the quiet authority held her fast

    Who touched me?

    I felt power leave me

    Who touched me?

    Just as she thought to turn and run

    His eyes found hers and with quiet authority

    The command in her spirit – Truth child

    Fear fled, Faith moved

    Boldness thrust her forward

    Bowing before the Lord, she spoke

    “It was I Lord’

    This is a poem inspired by the story of the woman with the issue of blood. This story in the bible is always an encouragement. It reminds me that God knows us, knows what we are going through and always shows up for us. No matter how long we have been going through something, God always makes it well.
